Enrollment for the 4th-6th Grade Talent Search opens October 1st. What is the Talent Search? Each year the 4th-6th Grade Talent Search helps educators and families determine how advanced their students’ abilities truly are and what level of educational challenge is appropriate. Educators who works with gifted students, are a critical part of this process. Above-Level Testing Opportunity (Optional)When a student is already excelling on grade-specific tests, the diagnostic knowledge gained from taking an above-level test, like PSAT™ 8/9, can be invaluable. Plus, parents and educators can more precisely assess a student’s academic abilities and plan a more appropriate learning strategy with above-level testing. Students may qualify for state recognition ceremonies based on their PSAT 8/9 score. Recognition requirements will be announced soon. Students who take the PSAT 8/9 test through Duke TIP also qualify for participation in the 7th Grade Talent Search, regardless of their PSAT 8/9 test score. For these reasons, Duke TIP strongly encourages all participants to take the PSAT 8/9 test.
